Aligned with CABA’s vision and mission, the Alliance aspires to be a:

To fulfill CABA’s role as the Advocate for the critical issues on trade and economy, it has collaborated with various Embassies and Trade Associations on the following fora:

  • “Outlook for Malaysia: Overcoming Challenges and Emerging Stronger” – Malaysian Embassy, Aug 2021 (to shed light on Malaysian economy and stability during transition of Malaysian prime-minister appointments. Concurrently High Commissioner H.E. Dato Azfar Mohamad Mustafa has been appointed to Singapore as his inaugural platform to address Singapore and ASEAN)
  • “Insights into Fastest ASEAN Growing Economy – Vietnam”, Vietnam Association of Corporate Directors, Aug 2021 (to shed light on community focus in investing in ASEAN when Vietnam emerged from a 3 months Covid lock-down)
  • “On Past and Future of Vietnam Business” – Vietnam Association of Corporate Directors (Finance), Sep 2021
  • “Attracting Economic and Startup FDIs into Philippines” – Philippines Embassy, Enterprise Singapore (Finance), Aug 2021 (to shed light on stability of economic FDIs especially upon appointment of newly elected president Marcos)

To gain a respectable following, it is important to strategically position CABA as the Thought Leader for important issues for the region, it has published the following articles and youtube on ASEAN, China and US relationship:

To fulfill CABA’s role as a Thought Leader for its focus thematics on Trade and Economy, it has hosted forums with Lee Kuan Yew institute of Policy Studies on:

  • Singapore SME Internationalization within ASEAN, May 2021
  • Digitalization Policy in Singapore, Aug 2021
  • The Role of Regulatory Sandboxes in Economic Development, Apr 2022
  • ASEAN Trade Policies (ongoing research and survey with NUS IPS)

CABA attempted as a capability builder for the business community and its members especially on current trending business issues focusing on: Digital Transformation, Financing, Smart and Sustainable City.

Aligned to the intended Capability Building focus, CABA has hosted and moderated the following discussions focusing on Smart and Sustainable City:

  • Moving the Needle towards a Sustainable Future in ASEAN, Dec 2021
  • Accelerating the Sustainable Development Post Cop-26, May 2022

 

To help accelerate Digital Transformation, CABA has spoken at the following topics with invitation to CABA members:

  • Investing in NFTs, Investments and Digital Assets, March 2022
  • Preempting Greenwashing in ASEAN, June 2022

Strategising Resources to Meet Our Member’s Needs

CABA will also be strategising resources to meet our member’s needs by engaging actors, designing contents, and facilitating actions.
